It’s not very fancy. But the hearty, home-country fare at this homey BYOB may make you nostalgic for the Polish childhood you never had.

It gets cold in Poland, and the stick-to-your-ribs dishes are designed to see you through winter. There’s a rotating list of soups, and they’re wonderful, including borscht, sorrel, sauerkraut, cream of leek and chicken with dumplings. Main dishes, meanwhile, wrap you in comfort: stuffed cabbage, pierogi, pork goulash, kielbasa and bigos, a “hunter’s stew” of meat and cabbage.

The traditional desserts are here, as well. Finish up with cheese blintzes, poppy-seed torte and kolaczki, and don’t plan on too much activity for the next few hours.
